The monitoring working groups were comprised of Gyumri civil society activists and college students. They were divided into groups by the types of tasks and activities. They collected information, summarized analyses, and developed conclusions and practical recommendations for the improvement of the urban public green areas management. The recommendations and practical suggestions were developed for each element of the urban public green areas management.
The project brought real changes in the civil society organizations’ activities for the purposes of sustainable democratic transformations in a very specific social field: the management and protection of the urban public green areas.
The Gyumri civil society activists and college students acquired the necessary practical knowledge, experience, skills of collecting, systematizing and summarizing information related to public monitoring. After acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills, the youth monitoring group created for the purposes of a project conducted independent public monitoring on the local authorities’ management of the Gyumri urban green areas.
