Initiative summary:

Democracy Research Institute (DRI) is a Georgian policy think tank that aims at the protection and promotion of human rights and fundamental freedoms. Thanks to its extensive network of local contacts, DRI monitors the human rights situation in the occupied territories of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, taking into account the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the local population. They report their findings and develop policy recommendations for the Georgian government and the international community. EED funding helps the team to sustain their operations during the pandemic.
