Eastern Human Rights Group

Initiative summary:

The Eastern Human Rights Defence Group (EHRG) is composed of a team of human rights defenders that effectively reaches out effectively to sensitive non-government controlled areas and raises awareness of human rights violations in Luhansk and Donetsk regions among local and national media as well as international stakeholders. With EED funding, the EHRG conducts monitoring missions in the Ukrainian government-controlled and non-controlled territories, provides legal support to residents of those areas and conducts an advocacy campaign to increase awareness of the locals’ rights and means to solve their problems. Likewise, the EHRG is holding a Human Rights School to empower local human rights activists to work further in this field.
