Initiative summary:

EED provides start-up support to the Analytical Centre ZMIST that unites local activists in Poltava, in central Ukraine. The organisation is a spin-off a regional media – ZMIST – whose team of experts contribute to local media with high quality analytical materials on various social, economic and political issues. To enhance the impact of their work, the analytical centre was set up to effectively provide the general public and the local authorities with their expertise around various issues, such as health, education, urban planning and investments. At the same time, the initiative intends to contribute to increased advocacy efforts, public awareness and participations in local governance, which is particularly timely in the context of local elections, scheduled for October 2020.
