Initiative summary:
Ahmed Mefreh, an Egyptian activist who fled the repression in his home country and settled in Geneva, Switzerland, established the Committee for Justice (CFJ) in 2015. The main work of the organization is monitoring and reporting on the conditions of Egyptian prisons. To date, the group have documented more than 100 human rights violations cases in places of detention. They also provide legal consultancies to the victims and their families and have published analytical or thematic reports focused on specific violations . Thanks to EED funding, CFJ is compiling and making available the collected data on its website and social media and conducts advocacy to various international human rights’ bodies.
