Al Bawsala (“The Compass”) is a leading Tunisian democracy watchdog that monitors the executive, parliament, and local authorities. EED emergency funding has covered operational costs for Covid-19-related monitoring activities, contributing to public accountability in a time of crisis. Al Bawsala is informing Tunisian citizens of decision-making processes related to the management of the pandemic and reporting human rights violations thanks to a country-wide network of volunteers.
