Our work
Since inception, EED has supported over 600 initiatives aimed at promoting democracy in the EU neighbourhood and beyond. This database provides an insight into the work of EED partners over the years. However, due to the sensitive nature of certain initiatives and personal security risks facing some grantees in the restrictive environments where they operate, not all initiatives are listed in the database.

Contributing to civic debate in Algeria
Country: AlgeriaIn the wake of ‘Hirak’, the popular protest movement on February 22nd 2019, the group actively contributes to an essential and lively debate about the future of Algeria and a potential political transition through several core activities tackling among others, the promotion of human rights and of the rule of law.

Action in the Mediterranean
Country: AlgeriaAction in Mediterranean, a Belgium-based organization, is increasing women’s participation in politics and society in the Maghreb countries. 20 young women (5 from each country + 5 from Belgium) are accompanying the campaigns of female politicians that are running in European and Belgian elections.
