The sixth edition of the Warsaw Dialogue for Democracy will take place on 7-8 December 2017 in Warsaw. This year the conference will be held under the theme "Dialogue in democracy, democracy in dialogue".

The Warsaw Dialog for Democracy, which has been organized since 2012 by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with its partners, every year brings together numerous civil society representatives, human rights defenders, academics, international organizations and politicians around the world to openly discuss the challenges of democracy and look for opportunities to support the processes of democratic transition.

The aim of this year's conference will be to highlight the role of dialogue for respect for human rights and freedoms and the strengthening of democratic institutions. Panel sessions will be devoted to issues such as free and independent media, interfaith dialogue and transitional justice, as well as the role of youth in shaping an inclusive political system.

For another year in a row, the European Endowment for Democracy has been invited as a partner of the conference, together with the Institute of National Remembrance Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the OSCE, and the Community of Democracies.

In the afternoon of 7 December EED will host its session "Tackling the challenges for independent media", where our partners from the European Neighbourhood will speak about the challenges faced by independent media outlets in different parts of the world and how they attempt to overcome the obstacles.

Speakers: Tamara Chergoleishvili - Tabula Media (Georgia); Natalia Antelava - Coda Story; Sami Elmoudni - The Moroccan Forum for Young Journalists; Diana Moukalled - Daraj (Lebanon); Dumitru Alaiba - CPR Moldova.
